Five mammals endogenous to Libya: Cheetah, African Lion, Striped Hyaena, Mediterranean Monk Seal, and Egyptian Mongoose.

Libya has FIVE recognizable climatic zones, the most dominant are Mediterranean and Saharan.

In the lowlands they have a Mediterranean climate and it consists of warm summers and mild winters, with very dry seasons.

Weather in the highlands is much cooler.

In a Saharan climate zone you will see moderalty hot summers, and extreme temperature changes thoughout the seasons.

Less than 2% of the national territory recieves enough rianfall for settled agriculture.

The heaviest precipitation is about 400 to 600 millimeters, all the other ares recieve around 400 millimeters or less.

In Saharan climates rainfall is less than 50 millimeters, and droughts could last up to two seasons.
